THE CELESTIAL ORDER
Eternal
Marriage, Eternal Embodiment, and the Density of Light
By Steve Streadbeck
I. The Eternal Law Behind All Laws
Before the
first star ignited, before the first atom cohered, before the first world was
hung in the infinite expanse, there existed only Intelligence—eternal,
self‑aware, uncreated, indestructible. Intelligence is not merely the
beginning; it is the substrate from which beginnings arise. It is the primal
awareness that precedes matter, energy, and time.
Intelligence responds to law the way matter responds
to gravity. Law is not imposed upon Intelligence; Intelligence gravitates
toward law.
This is why God is God.
He did not become God by decree. He became God by perfect
alignment with eternal law, the natural laws that govern the ascent of
Intelligence.
President Boyd K. Packer taught:
“The laws of God are fixed and eternal. They do not change.”
Elder Dallin Oaks affirmed:
“Changes in the civil law do not, indeed cannot, change the
moral law that God has established.”
Divine law is not a moral preference. It is the physics
of eternity.
Just as gravity shapes the motion of planets, divine law
shapes the motion of souls. Just as electromagnetism binds atoms, covenant
binds families. Just as nuclear forces hold the nucleus together, eternal law
holds the Celestial Kingdom together.
The Celestial Order is not merely a religious ideal. It is
the natural state of exalted Intelligence.
II. The Pattern of the Gods
In the
highest realm of existence dwell a Father in Heaven and a Mother in
Heaven—two perfected, exalted beings of infinite Intelligence, infinite
compassion, infinite creative power. Their union is not symbolic; it is the eternal
archetype of all family organization.
Their marriage is not temporary, it is eternal. Their unity
is not contractual. Their relationship is not ceremonial.
It is ontological—woven into the very structure of
their being.
They are not merely parents; they are Creators. They
are not merely united; they are complementary. They are not merely
exalted; they are exalting.
Their union is the source of all spirit birth. Their
complementarity is the engine of eternal creation. Their harmony is the
foundation of the universe.
This is why the pattern is singular:
- One
Father
- One
Mother
- One
eternal union
- One
eternal family structure
More than one father would be redundant. More than one
mother would be redundant. The pattern is perfect because the law is perfect.
Elder Andersen taught:
“In the very beginning, God initiated marriage between a man
and a woman—Adam and Eve.”
The Gods themselves follow this pattern. Thus all exalted
beings must follow it as well.
III. Intelligence and the Density of
Light
Intelligence
exists in degrees of glory—degrees of awareness, degrees of lawfulness, degrees
of light. Light is not metaphorical. It is literal. It is measurable. It is the
radiance of divine law internalized.
The Celestial Kingdom is the realm of maximum density of
light—the highest concentration of Intelligence, the fullest embodiment of
divine attributes.
This density is not symbolic. It is structural.
A Celestial body is composed of a higher order of
matter—refined, sanctified, glorified, and capable of eternal increase. A
Terrestrial body is composed of a lesser order of matter—glorious, but not
creative. A Telestial body is composed of a still lower order—resurrected, but
not exalted.
Only those who achieve the Celestial density of Intelligence-light
possess bodies capable of eternal procreation.
This is not favoritism. It is cosmological necessity.
Lower densities cannot sustain eternal reproduction. Their
resurrected bodies, though glorious, are not organized for eternal increase nor
has their temperament to endorse eternal laws.
Thus exaltation is not merely a reward. It is a state of
being—a density of light that enables creation.
IV. Eternal Embodiment and Eternal
Procreation
The power
to create life is the most sacred power in existence. It is the power that
expands eternity. It is the power that shapes the future of worlds.
This power is not distributed randomly. It is not entrusted
to the unprepared. It is not given to those who have not mastered divine law.
Only a man and a woman, united in eternal
covenant, possess the complementary structure—spiritually, intellectually,
biologically, and cosmologically—to bring forth life.
This is true in mortality. It is true in resurrection. It is
true in eternity.
Nature testifies of this law. Science confirms it.
Revelation declares it.
Elder Andersen taught:
“Families are the treasure of heaven.”
Every mammalian species on Earth reproduces through the
union of male and female. Every biological system is built upon
complementarity. Every reproductive mechanism requires polarity.
This is not cultural. This is not political. This is not
negotiable.
It is natural law, and natural law is divine law.
V. The Universal Witness of World
Religions
Across the
world’s great religious traditions—Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism,
Buddhism, Confucianism, and indigenous faiths—the definition of marriage has
remained remarkably consistent:
Marriage is the union of a man and a woman.
This is not coincidence. It is not historical accident. It
is not cultural inertia.
It is the echo of an eternal pattern.
Judaism teaches Adam and Eve as the archetypal pair.
Christianity affirms male–female marriage as ordained of God. Islam defines
marriage as the union of man and woman. Hinduism venerates the divine masculine
and divine feminine. Confucianism centers family lineage on father and mother.
Indigenous religions honor the balance of male and female energies.
The world’s religions disagree on many things. But on this
point, they speak with one voice.
The pattern is universal because the law is eternal.
VI. The Eternal Family Pattern
A
natural-born man and a natural-born woman may bring forth natural-born
children. This is the order of nature. This is the order of heaven.
The family is not a social invention. It is not a human
experiment. It is not a temporary arrangement.
It is the eternal organizational unit of the universe.
Perfect man. Perfect woman. Perfect law. Perfect order.
Perfect family.
This is the Celestial pattern. This is the eternal pattern.
This is the only pattern that leads to exaltation.
VII. The Eternal Horizon
Man is
eternal. Woman is eternal. Families are eternal. The plan is eternal. The path
is eternal.
The ascent of Intelligence is infinite. The horizon of
creation is endless. The destiny of God’s children is exaltation.
Those who enter the Celestial Order become like the Gods who
created them—beings of infinite light, infinite love, infinite Intelligence.
This is the destiny of the faithful. This is the promise of
the covenant. This is the future of all who embrace the eternal pattern.
CLOSING
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
Thus saith the Eternal Law:
Behold, the family is ordained before the worlds were
formed, and it shall endure when the worlds have passed away. Male and female created I them, and in their union is
the power of endless lives. No other pattern shall endure in the worlds
to come.
For the laws that govern the heavens are unchanging, and the
order of exaltation is one eternal round. Only those who enter the covenant of
eternal marriage shall obtain the fullness of light, the fullness of joy, and
the power of eternal increase.
For this is the decree of the Celestial Kingdom:
That Intelligence may rise, that glory may expand, that creation may continue
without end, and that the children of God may become Gods themselves.
Amen.
